Dear Triathlon Club members, As I look forward to my third Olympic Games, I could think of no better way to commemorate this occasion than to help the A-T Children's Project, a charity that has touched my heart. While Val and I were in Grand Rapids this past winter, we met Dave and Mary Veldink and learned that two of their children, Kate and Olivia, had been diagnosed with ataxia-telangiectasia, or A-T for short. A-T is a fatal genetic disease that attacks children causing progressive loss of muscle control, immune system problems, and a strikingly high rate of cancer particularly leukemia and lymphoma. The A-T Children's Project is a non-profit organization that raises funds to support and coordinates biomedical research projects, scientific conferences and a clinical center aimed at finding a cure for A-T. I have created a t-shirt for my fans that represents perseverance. It takes perseverance to achieve your goals and perseverance to cross the finish line. These children struggling with A-T demonstrate ultimate preseverance as they fight this horrible disease every day. The entire proceeds of these t-shirts will benefit the A-T Children's Project in honor of Kate and Olivia. I would love for you to join me in this important mission. TRI CLUB CHALLENGEI challenge every triathlon club across the country to sell as many Hunter Kemper t-shirts as possible to raise money for the A-T Children's Project. The triathlon club that raises the most funds through either the sale of t-shirts, or by donation will have the opportunity to have me come and speak to their club after the Olympic Games. I feel passionate about this special cause and I would love for you to join me in supporting these families and children that deal with this difficult disease.
